TL;DR
Australians might be the luckiest people on the planet right now as a few of them have been finding free tickets for the premiere of “Avengers: Infinity War” behind a select few posters promoting the movie in Brisbane.
Ever considered moving to Australia? Here’s another reason (and some free tickets) to strengthen your resolve:
Marvel Studios has come up with a brilliant marketing tactic where it’s encouraging people to rip out to movie posters in several places in the country, to reveal free tickets to this year’s most awaited Marvel movie – Avengers: Infinity War. The posters have a yellow “peel-able” tape around them and an extremely quirky message of “Do you dare remove Thanos?“. Thanos in the poster strikes an almost Uncle Sam-like pose and teases one just enough to rip the tape and get to their free tickets.
Only those posters with yellow stickers around have tickets behind them. This news first surfaced on the web when Reddit user chriscarr66 who posted this photo on Tuesday, having discovered it in Brisbane. While most posters have double in-season passes, a rare few are rumored to have free tickets to the movie preview screening.
Though this cool marketing campaign is currently only in Australia, if the word online is to be believed, the campaign will also be live in other major cities like London and New York. So next time you walk down the street, keep your eyes open for peel-able posters!
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on April 27, 2018. It is followed by Ant-Man and The Wasp on July 6, 2018, the sequel to 2015’s Ant-Man. 2019 will see Captain Marvel hit theaters on March 8, while the untitled fourth Avengers movie is slated to come out on May 3.
Other confirmed movies are the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel scheduled for release on July 5, 2019, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 coming out sometime in 2020.
